RULES OF THE CVGP2I

Please, read carefully this page, and print it if necessary.

The GP2 championship is a free and friendly championship for all the GP2’s fanatics. The goal of this tournament is to become the GP2’s world champion at the end of the season. A race will take place on 14 days. 7 days or the qualifications and 7 days for the race. The rules are here to allow a fair competition between the pilots.

  • The game level is PRO or ACE : every other level will invalidate the time.
  • Every help options are allowed, except the F4 HELP which is FORBIDDEN.
  • The processor occupation of your computer must NEVER exceed 100%.
  • The Formula 1 must always have 2 wheels on the track ( curbs and white line included ). If more than 2 wheelsare out of the track, the time won’t be accepted.
  • The skill level of the pilots must be the 1994 level. You must keep the original powers ( weight, power of the car …).
  • It is totally FORBIDDEN to modify the weight, the power of the car and every other option. An alteration of one of these parameters will lead to the disqualification of the incriminated pilot for the race..

  • For information :
    The power in qualifications must not be greater than 790 bhp.
    The power in race must not be greater than 780 bhp.
    The total weight of the car must not be lower than 1313 lbs.
    The grip of the car must be 0.
  • The car setup is totally free and left to discretion of the pilots.
  • The teams can be formed of 4 pilots ( 2 1998’s pilots and 2 new pilots ).
  • All the qualifications must be made in Non-Championship Race .
  • All the races must be run at 100%. Using the Quick Racelen utility
  • All the races must be run in QuickRace . The starting position of the pilot depends of the obtained position at the end of the qualifications.
  • Every pilot is responsible for placing his car at the right position on the starting grid, which is assigned after the end of the qualifications
  • The time and the number of free practises and qualifications are left to the pilot’s choice.
  • The CVGP2I carset must be installed to participate to the championship. It is totally forbidden to modify the datas of this carset.
  • You must install GP2Lap. After, to launch GP2, you will each time have to launch GP2lap before ( GP2Lap will automatically launch GP2 ). You will know that GP2Lap is installed as you will see its name written in the top right corner of the GP2 menu screen. Every time made without this utility will invalidate the lap. 
  • THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • The qualifications take place on 7 days : from the Monday 0h00 am to the next Sunday 11h59 pm ( paris time ).
  • Every pilot can send up to 5 qualifications times for a race.
  • The qualifications will be made in Non-Championship Race mode.
  • It is TOTALLY FORBIDDEN to take the drafting of another formula 1 in the qualification lap 
  • THE RACE

  • The race takes place on 7days : from the Monday, when the official starting grid is released to the next Sunday 11h59 pm
  • It is obvious that only one time will be accepted and that you can run the race only once ( if you give up, you must send this saved file and not begin another race ).
  • You must send your full race. It is forbidden to save the race in another place that the pits. Next, when you will resume your race and save it again, you have to change the name ( for example : if you stop 2 times, you must save your race at the 1st pit stop, and at the 2nd pit stop, and at the end of the race, and you must each time change the name ).
  • Then you must send all these files and your best race lap ( when you make a good time, save it immediatly, as GP2 deletes the times from the memory at the pit stops)
  • The race hotlap must be sent with the race files. If one file is missing, the pilot will be moved down to the last position after all the running pilots. (These files are obligatory for the time verifications.)
  • The race will be run at 100%.
  • All the realistic options for the race must be disabled ( engine breakdown, tyre blown … )
  • You must take place on the starting grid according to your qualifications results.
  • Even if you give up, send your race and hotlap files.
