  SOFTWARE

This program is software. This means that there is no support for this
mail. Backup your GP2.EXE and F1GSTATE.SAV before using the program.
I will not be held responsible for any problems that might occur as a
result of using this program. The only reason I have released it is
because I have put a lot of work in making it and it has some features
 people requested.

  NEW

 - Bug fixes.
 - Internal changes

  FEATURES

 - Importing names and data from GP2.exe
 - Exporting names and data to GP2.exe

Data includes trackname, country, adjective, tyre consumption
track length, number of laps, etc.

 - Exporting of track selection screen images using GP2HiPic
 - Game settings editor
 - Copying tracks to GP2
 - Making sets of tracks for easy switching tracks
 - Automatic track detection on selection
 - Modifying the CC car setup for a track
 - Modifying the CC pit strategy for a track
 - Modifying the "oposition level year" value
 - Editing of track records

  FUTURE

 - I'm trying to figure out how to import/export menuscreens
(but will probably end up using Gp2HiPic.exe)
 - Anything you might come up with!

  BUGS

 - This is actually not a bug, but a warning:

There is a limited amount of data for tracknames and countries
that can be exported to GP2 without problems. So when you stuff
the program with too much data, errors can occur. When you keep
thinking while using this program, nothing should go terribly
wrong. But then again ... backup GP2.EXE first!

 - With the non-english versions of GP2.EXE, there's an issue when
importing and exporting the adjectives. The english versions have
"one word adjectives" like "Monaco Grand Prix", where international
versions have things like "Grand Prix von Monaco". It's not easy to
fix this as the adjectives are mixed up in GP2.EXE in those versions.
However, this does not affect the game whatsoever, besides the top
line in the results screen after a race.

  INSTALLATION

 - Windows 9x and GP2 are required!

 - Your gp2.exe must be patched for using tracks stored on your
 harddisk instead of the cd.
 [use the gp2nodcrom patch: http://www.grandprix2.com/extra/gp2nocd.zip]

 - Be sure to keep a copy of GP2.EXE in a safe place before doing
anything! Your Grand Prix 2 CD is a good place to keep it.

 - Config.ini must be in the same directory as WinTrackMan.exe
Don't change Config.ini and don't move it! When it's damaged,
delete it and the program will create a new one.

 - After a new installation, first locate your copy of GP2.EXE
using the "Options / General Settings" menu. It's very
important you do this before importing or exporting data.

 - I would suggest making subdirectories in your \GP2\Circuits\
directory for the different kind of tracks like this:

 \gp2\
 \gp2\circuits\
 \gp2\circuits\mircroprose\ the original tracks
 \gp2\circuits\ia\ the IA tracks
\gp2\circuits\1998\ some of the great 1998 tracks
\gp2\circuits\e-racing\ some racing league specific tracks
 \gp2\circuits\ ........ .......

 etc.

Now you can make different trackset files to make several configurations
for GP2, combining tracks from several directories. The tracksets do not
contain the tracks themselves, but mere data about them.
