Red Bull Racing RB3 - Launch
Red Bull Racing RB3 - Launch
WOW!
Look at this car, the shape is just wow, the livery is just wow! What a wonderful F1-racer! It's just awesome, amazing, fantastic! You really see that this car was designed by Adrian Newey, itremembers me a lot of the previous McLarens.
When this car is as fast as it looks DC probably will become WC! (it's pf corse only a joke, but I hope they will perform well this season)

It certainly looks dramatic, and like everyone else says, you can see the lineage from Newey's recent McLarens. Not sure about the livery though, or more specifically the pin-stripes on top of the nose. They look a bit fussy to me.
Can't help but think how good it would look in silver...

Well I think there's probably even two reasons to be excited about this car, because the rumor mill says that Toro Rosso wants to use RBR's 2007 car or a modification of that, right?
So if they get through with that legally, you could see four of these cars this year...
Edit 31.01.2007 17:01:
Just a small update for this, in case anyone is looking for hi-res versions of these pictures, maybe for making the car in GP2:

If you click on an image and click the link "Download highres" you can do just that. Apparently, you don't need to register at that site for this, unlike on a certain other site where the highres pictures are just for "premium members"...

1996 .. 2024 .. 28 years and counting ..
I've seen that somewhere else, too. Great edit.
There are some subtle differences, but obviously there's no doubt that RB3 looks like a continuation of Newey's previous works... although he claims it's a combination of his style and good ideas from Red Bull...
I personally love how different it looks from last year's RBR car, even though the livery looks pretty similar...

About the whole RBR and STR chassis swapping thing.....
I think almost nobody has noticed that RBR was using an STR1 at the Abu Dhabi demo, how curious is that....
I can't find the picture where you can see it clearly (the airintake of the engine), but trust me on this one.
Found it....

You can also recognize it because the nose isn't as wide as on the RB2...
I think there is no underlying mythology for this though. This has probably been their "showcar" for 2006 and they haven't had the time to convert an RB2 yet. (Or that car got them down so much that we'll never see it again, because they are superstitious now... )
