Round 13 of 16

Gran Premio d'Italia

Monza, Italy
3.604 miles / 5.800 km
April 20, 1998

It's time to buy your second plain ticket to Italy. This time the destination is Milaan rather than Imola. One of the most classical circuits opens its gates for all the excited spectators and racers, circuit Monza.

Generally, the cars are set up virtually wingless, because all that matters is to get some good speed on the straights. On the other hand, if you want to make most use out of this speed it's important to have a good exit-speed out of the corners. The legendary 'Curva Parabolica' is a good example of this.

Basically, the track is a combination of three chicanes and number of straights. Maybe this simplicity is what makes this track so popular and surely this Monza race will be a classic, like most others.
