Round 9 of 16

The British Grand Prix

Silverstone, England
3.200 miles/ 5.152 km
Feburary 16, 1998

Welcome to Silverstone, England and the ninth round of the LFRS World Championship!

Silverstone is one of the fastest tracks on the calender, and a great car tester. With long straights (Hanger), sweeping corners (Stowe) and a the tight infield section, finding the right setup can be very tricky. You need to compromise your setup between speed top speed and grip to get a quick lap here.

History: Silverstone is one of the oldest tracks in Grand Prix racing, and has always been famous for one reason, it's fast! In its original layout, Silverstone was the fastest F1 track in the world. Keke Rosberg in a Williams Honda set the record for the fastest single lap in F1 history when he lapped Silverstone at an average speed of 161mp/h (259km/h) in qualifying for the 1985 British GP.
